THIS WEEKS WEATHER FORECAST
This week's weather forecast is predicting rain. If the weather does not allow for players to line up outside, we ask the following (however, I will send out updates as needed):
Friday: Please ensure that players, along with their 1 x spectator, arrive no earlier than 5 Minutes before their game. Any players who do not need to show ID and arrive any earlier than 5 minutes will be asked to go and wait in their car. Players will be directed to their court, however, will not be able to go to the benches until cleaning has concluded.
Due to there being no undercover section available for teams to line up on a Friday, we ask that teams please be mindful to leave the stadium as soon as their game concludes, to assist staff with a smooth transition.
Saturday: Players are able to arrive 10 minutes before their game with there 1 x spectator, and will be lined up on Courts 1 & 2 until directed to their courts by supervisors.
In order to avoid crowding at the entrance, we ask that all spectators send the message prior to arriving at the stadium. It must be done on the day of competition, and both messages (sent and received) will need to be on the screen ready to show the BSO Officer.
As per last week. We ask that all players are dressed in their playing gear and ready to take the court.
We ask that you please be mindful in terms of your well-being. If you feel un-well or have been in contact with a COVID-19 case or to any of the noted hotspot locations, please do not attend our stadium.
Please continue to monitor NSW Health for updated on confirmed case locations - https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates#latest-covid-19-case-locations-in-nsw
Once again, I would like to Re-enforce that all other guidelines are still in place. However, I would like to highlight some important areas that are being neglected in some instances.
1 / Entrance to the stadium will be via the front door. Please ensure that all players respect this requirement and do not enter via the exit doors. There will be a supervisor situated at the exit door, as per council guidelines, anyone caught entering the stadium through the exit door will be evicted from the stadium for the night. They will not be able to play or spectate if they enter through any door other than the entry door (main entrance).
2/ At the conclusion of the games, players, coaches and spectators will be asked to leave the venue.
Friday Junior Competition - All to exit via the exit door on court one (Lair End).
Saturday Competition - (when Senior Reps are here - exit via the exit door on court 3).
3/ IF A PLAYER IS UNDER THE AGE OF 18, THEY ARE PERMITTED TO BRING ONE SPECTATOR. Spectators will need to enter the venue with their child.
We are restricted to the amount of people we can have in the venue at any one time NO ADDITIONAL SPECTAORS WILL BE PERMITTED, THIS INCLUDES SIBLINGS
4/ 2 persons ONLY on the score bench at all times [social distancing]. Please ensure that there are no additional members on the Scorebench or beside the Scorebench. As per Basketball NSW guidelines, it is not compulsory, however, recommended that those members doing Scorebench wear a mask.
5/ Team benches are allocated for players and 1 x coach only. All other members associated with the team, will need to be seated on the spectator seats provided.
All persons entering the stadium, who are not listed on the scoresheet will be required to register via SMS. Please note the SMS must be sent on the day. If your child plays on Friday and Saturday, you will be required to register via SMS on both days.
SMS 0459 600 600 with the code word RTX followed by your full name and email address prior to entry.
There will also be 1 x BSO officer at the santiser station. Each person entering the stadium will be required to santise.
Thank you for your help and understanding during this time.
Kind Regards,
Christine Rosina
Junior Competitions Manager
Bankstown Basketball Association
There will be some new procedures and guidelines in place to ensure a safe return to Basketball, these will be outlined in an email tomorrow.
For now please note the following:
Entry to the Venue will be allowed Approx. 5 Minutes prior to your game. Please do not arrive any earlier. There will be stations set up outside, this will be outlined in more detail in the email I send out tomorrow.
Players will be asked to immediately exit the venue after their game.
IF A PLAYER IS UNDER THE AGE OF 18, THEY ARE PERMITTED TO BRING ONE SPECTATOR. Spectators will need to enter the venue with their child.
ANY PLAYER OVER THE AGE OF 18, WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO BRING A SPECTATOR.
PLEASE NOTE THIS SPECTATOR MUST BE OVER THE AGE OF 18 - NO ADDITIONAL SPECTAORS WILL BE PERMITTED, THIS INCLUDES SIBLINGS Please note that teams will still be permitted to have 1 x coach per team. However, if this coach is a parent/guardian of one of the children, they will still be counted as the 1 x spectator for that child. This child will not be able to bring another spectator.
Spectators, Coaches and Club Delegates will be required to register via text prior to entering the stadium.
SMS 0459 600 600 with the code word RTX followed by your full name and email address prior to entry. I have attached an example text to this email.
As you enter the stadium, we will require proof of text that you sent on that day, which includes our unique venue code.

Good Afternoon,

We ask that you please be mindful in terms of your well-being. If you feel un-well or have been in contact with a COVID-19 case, please do not attend our stadium.
For all Junior Competitions there will be stations set up outside the main entrance - (Court 1, Court 2, Court 3 etc). Teams will be required to line up at their allocated court location and will be let in accordingly.
Due to it being Week 1, any ID or Registration issues do not have to be dealt with prior to the games. Players will be allowed to make their way up to the lair after their game, and will then have to exit immediately once resolved.
1/ All to enter via the Front Door
2/ If you are not required to see your club official in the lair for registration, then entry to Venue will be only be allowed Approx. 5 Minutes prior to your game. Please do not arrive any earlier.
3/ IF A PLAYER IS UNDER THE AGE OF 18, THEY ARE PERMITTED TO BRING ONE SPECTATOR. Spectators will need to enter the venue with their child.
PLEASE NOTE THIS SPECTATOR MUST BE OVER THE AGE OF 18 - NO ADDITIONAL SPECTAORS WILL BE PERMITTED, THIS INCLUDES SIBLINGS
Please note that teams will still be permitted to have 1 x coach per team. However, if this coach is a parent/guardian of one of the children, they will still be counted as the 1 x spectator for that child. This child will not be able to bring another spectator.
4/ There will be sanitiser at the front door [please use this on entrance to the stadium].
5/ Spectators, Club Delegates and Coaches will be required to register via text.
SMS 0459 600 600 with the code word RTX followed by your full name and email address prior to entry. I have attached an example text to this email.
6/ Players will not need to sign in, however, will need to ensure that their full name is on the scoresheet before taking the court. Any player not listed on the scoresheet will need to complete a "Trial Form" before taking the court. These will be located at the courts.
7/ Please remember, No Handshakes, No High Fives and No Team Huddles.
8/ Uniforms - Due to COVID uniforms will not be handed out unless in the instance of a colour clash. Any team yet to organise uniforms are to either wear white or black shirts with their playing number taped or marked on the front and back.
8/ Spectators will be required to Social Distance on the seating provided
9/ At the conclusion of the games, players, coaches and spectators will be asked to leave the venue.
Friday Junior Competition - All to exit via the exit door on court one (Lair End).

12/ Hand Sanitiser and Wipes will be available on each Scorebench for all officials and Scorebench personal to utilise when necessary. We ask that the Scorebench personal santise and wipe down the bench and equipment after the game.
13/ The Referees will have minimal contact with the ball during the game
14/ Referees will sanitise the ball prior to game and at half time.
15/ Referees will have minimal contact with the scoresheet
16/ As per Senior Rule changes, and to assist with Time-Management, the Junior Competition will be doing the following -
* Timeslots will be reduced to 19 Minute Halves.
* There will be only 1 x 30 Second Timeout allocated per team, per half.
* Timeouts will not be permitted during that last minute of each half.
* Half time will be reduced to 1 minute.
17 / To assist with Social Distancing, Lisa will now be situated in the Lair. Please send all Registration and ID enquiries to her.
We understand that our system will need adjusting and will be reviewed after each competition night, but the BBA team is dedicated to try and make it work in a safe and compliant manner.

Good Afternoon, Firstly, I hope you are all well and safe.
I am touching base with all clubs regarding the Junior Competition. Given the current restrictions and the release of the 3 Step Framework, it has become clear that our competitions will not be able to safely operate on the date that we had hoped.
As we have all become aware, the guidelines outlined by the NSW Government are not set in stone and may change at any time.
We believe at this time that it is best to post-pone all competitions indefinitely. To date no clear timeline has been given for our sport to return in any form including training. We are hesitant to give another start date at this time as things may come back sooner than what has been predicted or be pushed back even further. We will continue to follow the restrictions closely and once we have a clear start date will let you know with plenty of time to nominate/re-nominate teams, add players and do the admin work required for your club (it is not something we will spring on you a week out).
We have had many discussions in this office and with the match committee regarding what is to be done with the 2019/20 Summer Comp which was meant to conclude early April. Under the current circumstances of COVID-19, and with the restrictions continuing over the next few months, we decided to disband the Summer 2019/20 competition and start afresh with a new competition once restrictions are eased and we have a clearer idea of how we can proceed.
I will reach out as soon as things become clear.
Many thanks,
Christine Rosina

The Red Stars junior teams on Friday night in Bankstown Basketball Summer 2019/2020 Competation!
The Bankstown Basketball Match Committee have decided that there will be no Semi Finals for the Summer 19/20 season and that the games played will be Grand Finals only. This means that based on the Semi Final working, only positions 1 and 2 for each division will play the Grand Finals
Due to all Red Stars junior teams having a good summer season ,unfortunately only one team didn't make it to the finals, that's the boys team U/16 who finished third. All other 8 teams were 1st or 2nd position before the games got postponed due to Covid-19 corona virus!
We are still hoping to be able to finalise the Summer 2019/2020 season in term 2 !
