IMPORTANT NOTICE | BANKSTOWN ASSOCIATION COVID-19 NOTICE

Last updated 06 August 2020 !

THIS WEEKS WEATHER FORECAST
This week's weather forecast is predicting rain. If the weather does not allow for players to line up outside, we ask the following (however, I will send out updates as needed):

Friday: Please ensure that players, along with their 1 x spectator, arrive no earlier than 5 Minutes before their game. Any players who do not need to show ID and arrive any earlier than 5 minutes will be asked to go and wait in their car. Players will be directed to their court, however, will not be able to go to the benches until cleaning has concluded.
Due to there being no undercover section available for teams to line up on a Friday, we ask that teams please be mindful to leave the stadium as soon as their game concludes, to assist staff with a smooth transition.
Saturday: Players are able to arrive 10 minutes before their game with there 1 x spectator, and will be lined up on Courts 1 & 2 until directed to their courts by supervisors.
In order to avoid crowding at the entrance, we ask that all spectators send the message prior to arriving at the stadium. It must be done on the day of competition, and both messages (sent and received) will need to be on the screen ready to show the BSO Officer.
As per last week. We ask that all players are dressed in their playing gear and ready to take the court.
We ask that you please be mindful in terms of your well-being. If you feel un-well or have been in contact with a COVID-19 case or to any of the noted hotspot locations, please do not attend our stadium.
Please continue to monitor NSW Health for updated on confirmed case locations - https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates#latest-covid-19-case-locations-in-nsw

Once again, I would like to Re-enforce that all other guidelines are still in place. However, I would like to highlight some important areas that are being neglected in some instances.
1 /       Entrance to the stadium will be via the front door. Please ensure that all players respect this requirement and do not enter via the exit doors. There will be a supervisor situated at the exit door, as per council guidelines, anyone caught entering the stadium through the exit door will be evicted from the stadium for the night. They will not be able to play or spectate if they enter through any door other than the entry door (main entrance).
2/       At the conclusion of the games, players, coaches and spectators will be asked to leave the venue.
Friday Junior Competition - All to exit via the exit door on court one (Lair End).
Saturday Competition - (when Senior Reps are here - exit via the exit door on court 3).
3/         IF A PLAYER IS UNDER THE AGE OF 18, THEY ARE PERMITTED TO BRING ONE SPECTATOR. Spectators will need to enter the venue with their child.
We are restricted to the amount of people we can have in the venue at any one time NO ADDITIONAL SPECTAORS WILL BE PERMITTED, THIS INCLUDES SIBLINGS
4/         2 persons ONLY on the score bench at all times [social distancing]. Please ensure that there are no additional members on the Scorebench or beside the Scorebench. As per Basketball NSW guidelines, it is not compulsory, however, recommended that those members doing Scorebench wear a mask.
5/         Team benches are allocated for players and 1 x coach only. All other members associated with the team, will need to be seated on the spectator seats provided.
All persons entering the stadium, who are not listed on the scoresheet will be required to register via SMS. Please note the SMS must be sent on the day. If your child plays on Friday and Saturday, you will be required to register via SMS on both days.
SMS 0459 600 600 with the code word RTX followed by your full name and email address prior to entry.

There will also be 1 x BSO officer at the santiser station. Each person entering the stadium will be required to santise.
Thank you for your help and understanding during this time.

Kind Regards,
Christine Rosina
Junior Competitions Manager
Bankstown Basketball Association

Last updated 17 Jun  2020 !

Good Afternoon, Firstly, I hope you are all well and safe.
I am touching base with all clubs regarding the Junior Competition. Given the current restrictions and the release of the 3 Step Framework, it has become clear that our competitions will not be able to safely operate on the date that we had hoped.
As we have all become aware, the guidelines outlined by the NSW Government are not set in stone and may change at any time.
We believe at this time that it is best to post-pone all competitions indefinitely. To date no clear timeline has been given for our sport to return in any form including training. We are hesitant to give another start date at this time as things may come back sooner than what has been predicted or be pushed back even further. We will continue to follow the restrictions closely and once we have a clear start date will let you know with plenty of time to nominate/re-nominate teams, add players and do the admin work required for your club (it is not something we will spring on you a week out).
We have had many discussions in this office and with the match committee regarding what is to be done with the 2019/20 Summer Comp which was meant to conclude early April. Under the current circumstances of COVID-19, and with the restrictions continuing over the next few months, we decided to disband the Summer 2019/20 competition and start afresh with a new competition once restrictions are eased and we have a clearer idea of how we can proceed.
I will reach out as soon as things become clear.
Many thanks,
Christine Rosina

Bankstown Basketball are still hoping to be able to finalise the Summer 2019/2020 Season on Friday the 1st and Saturday the 2nd of May, and as a result we are still hoping to begin the Winter 2020 Season on Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th of May!

Currently, we simply do not have the answers to all your questions as the situation continues to change from day to day and week to week.

The finals for the Summer 19/20 Season will be scheduled for Friday the 1st and Saturday the 2nd of May.
The Match Committee have decided that there will be no Semi Finals for the Summer 2019/2020 season and that the games played will be Grand Finals only. This means that based on the Semi Final working, only positions 1 and 2 for each division will play the Grand Finals.

Please DO NOT renew or pay your personal registration at this stage. If you have recently paid your rego, we are awaiting further advise from Basketball NSW (our governing body) and will advise once we have the information.

Stadium information will be updated on our Facebook page and the web site as required.

Monday Division 1 Team |  Last updated 22 Jun 2020 !

Email from Bankstown .... Hi Milorad,
Thank you for your response in regards to the use of “Teampay” for the payment of game fees. Please be reassured that we have taken all our teams responses into account, the issues that you have raised are valid and understandable.
We have contacted several associations who utilise this payment method and the feedback has been constant with each association. The responses have been generally  - difficult to implement and get everyone “on board”, however, once in operation, has proven to be an exceptionally efficient and time saving way of accepting and processing game fees.
We acknowledge that paying game fees in advance is an issue through Teampay. We have addressed this with the developers and they are looking into this issue. In the meantime there are ways of still taking game fees in advance from your players by opening and crediting the funds to a team bank account (many teams already have this in operation) then in the week of the game, the captain will just tick one box that has this account attached and the whole game fee is debited to the one bank account.
Or as many teams will do, just process the game fee in the week of the game, only ticking the boxes of the players who will be playing. Should players that have had their accounts debited not turn up for the game, then you can leave them unticked for the following week and their account will not be debited. Some teams have a ruling that all players (injury excepted) pay for all games whether they turn up or not. This has resulted in players being more responsible in attending games.

One of the goals of this system is that when players enter the stadium, they are ready to play without the hassle of then getting payment from the players (resulting in the delay of starting games). Another goal is to reduce the handling of cash/manual credit card payments which are becoming exceptionally costly to the running of this association (which result in an increase in game fees to cover).

Please be reassured that you can have more than 1 person who can access the app to make the payment. This alleviates the issue if the captain is not available/cannot log on.
The security platform used is Stripe. This platform is the most stringent level of certification available in the payment industry.
If you require any further clarification on Teampay, please do not hesitate to call. I will be happy to discuss any issues.

Kind Regards
