Please take the time to read and forward on all information to your teams and parents/players.
We require everyone to be patient and understanding of the guidelines that we have put in place and ask that you always respect the staff.
We ask that you please be mindful in terms of your well-being. If you feel un-well or have been in contact with a COVID-19 case, please do not attend our stadium.
It is going to take time to get everyone checked in, so please ensure you allow extra time to park and organise your three access requirements:

  • QR Check-in.
  • Proof of double vaccination for everyone aged 16 years and above.
  • Put on your mask if you are 12 years and above to enter the venue. Participants can remove the mask while engaged in on-court activity. Masks to be worn once on-court activity is complete.

  1. There will be sanitiser at the front door (please use this on entrance to the stadium).
  1. All participants aged 12 years and above must be wearing a mask when inside the stadium. Players can only remove their mask while engaged in on-court activity.

Spectators will need to ensure that they buy any food prior to this closure as we will not be allowing parents/players to wait inside until the canteen re-opens.

Uniforms – Due to COVID, uniforms will not be handed out unless in the instance of a colour clash. Any team yet to organise uniforms are to either wear white or black shirts with their playing number taped or marked on the front and back.

BANKSTOWN ASSOCIATION COVID-19 GUIDELINES

COVID-19 GUIDELINES UPDATED: 7th October 2021

Dear Members, Players and Parents,
GOOD NEWS! Bankstown Basketball Stadium is Reopening!
The stadium will reopen its doors 9am, Monday 18th October 2021 and will be available for casual shooting and court hire only. Due to public health orders anyone 16 years or older who wishes to access the stadium MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED. A staff member or the COVID Safety Officer will require you to register via the Stadium’s QR Code and then show your Vaccination certificate before any access is granted. I want to stress that this Health Order has been mandated and anyone who is caught within the stadium unvaccinated can receive a $1,000 fine and the stadium a $5,000 fine. FACE MASKS ARE MANDATORY when entering the stadium and only removed if playing on the court. We hope you will all respect the position the Association is in until all community members are free to access all venues as proposed from 1st December 2021. Obviously, these health orders can change and the Association will adhere and adjust as required.
Senior Competitions:Senior Competitions will commence from Monday, 1st November 2021. All players must be fully vaccinated to be allowed to play until the 1st of December after this date all community members can access the competitions. Those that have expired registrations a discount is being provided by BNSW and the Association to which we’ll pass on to you. All players must be registered before they can commence play. Currently there will be no spectators allowed and the Association will request all players leave immediately after their game through the exit doors at the end of court 1. Face masks are mandatory for entering, exiting and passively moving within the stadium. Masks can be removed once participating on the court. Sharon will be in contact with all teams that have entered for the new season in the coming days/ week.
Junior Competitions:Junior Competitions will commence from Friday/ Saturday – 5/6th November 2021. Players 15 years or under are presently not required to be vaccinated but the parent/ guardian/ carer must be fully vaccinated and prove this at the entry of the stadium including registering via the QR Code. Due to social distancing protocols the Association will require teams to remain outside the stadium and enter once the previous game has finished. Christine will provide specific details around the COVID safety measures and competition to the clubs by the end of next week.
Junior Representatives:The Association is conscious that the 2021 rep season was interrupted and most families had prepaid for the full season. In light of this the Association will be refunding $100 per player that had paid their fees in full for the 2021 season. If there is any money owing to the Association that debt will be applied to the $100 refund. Those that desire to have their child trial for the 2022 season you can instruct Debbie to hold the $100 in credit and if you child is selected in a team then the $100 can be applied to their fees for the 2022 season. Please be patient as Debbie works through the refunds but we hope to have this concluded by mid-November.
In regards to the representative junior trials for the 2022 season. The Association is looking at stagnating the trials for U12 & U14s in November while the U16s & U18s will be held in December. More information will be forwarded shortly to the exact details around the age group schedules and competition formats for the 2022 season. However, the parent/guardian/ carer must be fully vaccinated to access the stadium. Presently we can only allow one (1) parent per child to keep our 1:4 square metre social distancing rule. Parents/ Guardians/ Carers must sign in via the QR Code and then show a staff member their vaccination certificate before both the child and minder are allowed into the stadium. The staff will still be contactable via email and from the 18th October will be at the stadium on a set roster to cater for the opening hours of the stadium. All our staff will be vaccinated to be able to work at the stadium until December to which time that the health order for unvaccinated is lifted. We understand that the vaccination position and COVID Safety Procedures are going to be constrictive for a little while and we really plead with people to be patient, understanding and be respectful to the Association’s staff. We simply want to provide a safe environment for both staff, members and visiting patrons.
Take care everyone and we look forward to seeing you all really soon.
