IMPORTANT NOTICE|SUMMER 2022|BANKSTOWN ASSOCIATION COVID-19 GUIDELINES

  • Published in Latest news

COVID-19 GUIDELINES UPDATED: 25th February 2022

Dear Members, Players and Parents,

Following the health guidelines presented by the NSW Government the following COVID safety rules are being alter from midnight 24th February 2022:

• Face Masks will no longer be compulsory to enter, spectate and exit the venue. However, we encourage to wear masks to keep your fellow patrons safe.
• No Limit on spectators for all competitions, sport events and casual bookings.
• No QR Code sign in required.
• Exit will no longer be from the back of court 1. The entry and exit will return to be through the main entrance and foyer of the stadium.
• Canteen numbers inside no longer limited, but please coordinate line up to go around the edge of court 2 towards court 1.

If you are feeling unwell and displaying COVID symptoms we please request to remain away from the stadium and complete an antigen test and record a negative result before deciding to return to the stadium.
We thank you for your patience and following all our guidelines over the last two years.

Take care and stay safe
Christian Gobolos
Chief Executive Officer

Dear Members, Players and Parents,

I would just like to forward via email the communication that was published on the BBA Facebook and Website. Please communicate this with all teams as we approach the beginning of the junior competition.

With the update of the COVID-19 Guidelines and Restrictions,  the Associations position is as follows:
• QR Code registration upon arrival, please ensure this is done as you enter the stadium.
• Face masks are mandatory in the stadium when entering, spectating and leaving the stadium. Players can remove while competing in games. It is important to note that players aged 12 years and over are required to enter the stadium with a mask.
• Encourage spectators to social distance while inside the stadium
• Unvaccinated community members are welcome into the stadium to compete or spectate.
• Junior Competition – One (1) spectator per child and siblings are allowed

The Association will no longer initiate a bio-safety officer at the front entrance to protect staff members from potential infectious visitors. While the staff will police face masks, we are requesting patrons take self-responsibility to their own safety, health practices and respect for other patrons by wearing a mask as much as they can. Also, once your game has finished to exit the stadium immediately via the doors at the end of court 1. This will eliminate potential cross infection of time periods of competition, and will also allow enough social distance spacing for the next group of parents to spectate.
Thank you for your abiding by the Association's COVID safety requests and we hope you stay as safe as possible.
Regards
Christian Gobolos
Chief Executive Officer

The Coaching Department will provide further information around class availability and costings as we get closer to the 29th August commencement date.

Skills & Development Classes (Liverpool)

Due to the unpredictability of a start date and the fact that it’s a brand new class we have decided to cancel both classes for term 3 and will look to re-establish these classes to commence on the 6th October 2021. Those that have registered for these classes Caitlin will be in contact to attempt to roll these registrations to the new term.

Due to public health orders anyone 16 years or older who wishes to access the stadium MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED. A staff member or the COVID Safety Officer will require you to register via the Stadium’s QR Code and then show your Vaccination certificate before any access is granted. I want to stress that this Health Order has been mandated and anyone who is caught within the stadium unvaccinated can receive a $1,000 fine and the stadium a $5,000 fine. FACE MASKS ARE MANDATORY when entering the stadium and only removed if playing on the court. We hope you will all respect the position the Association is in until all community members are free to access all venues as proposed from 1st December 2021. Obviously, these health orders can change and the Association will adhere and adjust as required.
Senior Competitions:Senior Competitions will commence from Monday, 1st November 2021. Currently there will be no spectators allowed and the Association will request all players leave immediately after their game through the exit doors at the end of court 1. Face masks are mandatory for entering, exiting and passively moving within the stadium. Masks can be removed once participating on the court. Sharon will be in contact with all teams that have entered for the new season in the coming days/ week.
Junior Competitions:Junior Competitions will commence from Friday/ Saturday – 5/6th November 2021. Players 15 years or under are presently not required to be vaccinated but the parent/ guardian/ carer must be fully vaccinated and prove this at the entry of the stadium including registering via the QR Code. Due to social distancing protocols the Association will require teams to remain outside the stadium and enter once the previous game has finished. Christine will provide specific details around the COVID safety measures and competition to the clubs by the end of next week.
Junior Representatives:The Association is conscious that the 2021 rep season was interrupted and most families had prepaid for the full season. In light of this the Association will be refunding $100 per player that had paid their fees in full for the 2021 season. If there is any money owing to the Association that debt will be applied to the $100 refund. Those that desire to have their child trial for the 2022 season you can instruct Debbie to hold the $100 in credit and if you child is selected in a team then the $100 can be applied to their fees for the 2022 season. Please be patient as Debbie works through the refunds but we hope to have this concluded by mid-November.
In regards to the representative junior trials for the 2022 season. The Association is looking at stagnating the trials for U12 & U14s in November while the U16s & U18s will be held in December. More information will be forwarded shortly to the exact details around the age group schedules and competition formats for the 2022 season. The staff will still be contactable via email and from the 18th October will be at the stadium on a set roster to cater for the opening hours of the stadium. All our staff will be vaccinated to be able to work at the stadium until December to which time that the health order for unvaccinated is lifted. We understand that the vaccination position and COVID Safety Procedures are going to be constrictive for a little while and we really plead with people to be patient, understanding and be respectful to the Association’s staff.
